Pep is silent about the Haaland transfer
PEP GUARDIOLA said he has been banned from speaking about Erling Haaland until the deal to bring him to the Etihad is finalized, he writes Martin Blackburn.
Manchester City are ready to activate the release clause – quoted at £64million in Germany – to sign the Borussia Dortmund striker.
But both clubs urged Guardiola not to discuss what he could bring to the champions until everything is agreed.
Speaking to Wolves ahead of the trip on Wednesday night, Pep said: “Everyone knows the situation but I shouldn’t speak because I don’t like talking about the future next season.
“At the same time, I should say something, but Borussia Dortmund and Man City have told me that I can’t say anything until the deal is fully finalized.
“So I can’t speak, sorry. We’ll have time to talk.
“I’d like to talk, honestly, but I can’t! You tell me, don’t tell me about the legal action or the legal situation, that’s far from my perspective.
“We will have time to talk about it. Not because I don’t want to – but because I can’t.”
