Erling Haaland and Co stunned as Borussia Dortmund knocked out of the German Cup by second division side St Pauli

ERLING HAALAND and Jude Bellingham were stunned when St Pauli knocked hosts Borussia Dortmund out of the German Cup.
Dortmund’s two in-demand superstars were powerless to stop the second-tier team from claiming one of their greatest victories.
Manchester United and City target Haaland managed to get a consoling penalty but Bellingham fell to the floor at the final whistle, holding his head in shock in a 2-1 round of 16 defeat.
Dortmund’s top rivals Cologne also faced a second-place opponent, having to succumb to the Hamburg giants on penalties.
But unlike Cologne, Dortmund has won the national cup 5 times and is a strong team.
Togo striker Etienne Amenyido scored Marcel Hartel’s close-range shot to open the scoring in St Pauli’s fourth minute.
Host keeper Dennis Smarsch then blocked Thorgan Hazard and Marco Reus as Dortmund tried to fight back.
And Haaland shot high as the visitors ramped up the tempo further against a team without a win in the past three games.
But St Pauli turned the game around dramatically and Axel Witsel’s own goal in the 40th minute doubled the home side’s advantage.

St Pauli’s momentum was lost when Jakov Medic tackled inside his box, allowing Haaland to score an own goal in the 58th minute.
Dortmund aggressively moved forward in pursuit of the equalizer.
All they were able to produce, however, were painstaking efforts from Bellingham and Donyell Malen as St Pauli secured a famous victory.
For Haaland at least, that distracts from his statements. Dortmund are pushing him to make a decision about his future.
Bundesligsa’s second-placed team hit back, said they were ‘surprised’ by the Norwegians’ comments.
