Erik ten Hag tells Marcus Rashford to reject PSG transfer and help make Man Utd best team in the WORLD again

MARCUS RASHFORD has been ordered to stay at Manchester United and help make them the best team in the world again.
The striker has 18 months left on his contract with the club who are trying to tie him down to a new long-term deal.

Paris Saint-Germain have already expressed their interest in the in-form 25-year-old.
But Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag insists the local can achieve anything he wants in football if he stays at the club where he grew up.
Ten Hag said: “I hope all our players can get interest from clubs because it means you’re doing a good job, the team is performing above average, so that’s what we’re striving for.
“Then I would say this is the best place because we want to build the best team, first in England, then in Europe, then in the world.”
And Ten Hag says the way he is building this team is perfect for Rashford and the club.
He said: “He understands Man Utd is his club, that’s the first thing, but also in that environment, in that team, he plays his best football.
“He’s improving and that’s about him because he’s working on the good things.
“He gives 100 percent energy and he has a good plan and he can also contribute his qualities to this team.

“So this team can help him to be in the right position and to score goals, which he is good at. This team is built to show his qualities and he knows it.
“But definitely yes, he’s important to us and if we’re going to have the success we want, we need him.”
They would certainly like a goal or two of his on Wednesday night at the City Ground in their Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Nottingham Forest as he looks to improve on his 17 for the season.
Of those, nine have come in the last ten games since returning from the World Cup, where he scored three goals for England.
The Red Devils could use Antony also being in the song after he was criticized in United’s 3-2 defeat by Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday.
Ten Hag said: “He can do better.
“I see room for improvement and we want him to be more direct, but the team play better when he’s on the pitch and that’s good, a good base to continue to build on.”
United take on Forest as they seek a Wembley final against Newcastle or Southampton, ending a trophy drought dating back to 2017’s Europa League triumph under Jose Mourinho.
That fruitless run equals an unwelcome 40-year record for the club, having gone without cutlery between their 1977 and 1983 FA Cup triumphs.
Since that triumph in 2017, they have lost two finals in the FA Cup and Europa League and lost in the semi-finals a further four times.
Ten Hag said: “It’s been too long since this club hasn’t won a trophy and it belongs to this club to win trophies so we need to get back on track.
“It’s the best feeling you can have to win a trophy and I’ve been lucky enough to win a few trophies in my career and it’s great, especially for the fans, it’s so great.
“The fans here have some experience with it, especially the older ones.
“But in that time Manchester United haven’t won any trophies, it’s been too long. We are aware of this and we have to repeat it.”
Ten Hag says his Manchester United players will be motivated by a blistering atmosphere at the City Ground in their first game in 24 years.
On their last visit in 1999, the Red Devils won 8-1, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer coming on as a substitute and scoring four goals.
Ten Hag expect a closer game on Wednesday night in front of a packed crowd on the banks of The Trent.
He said: “It’s been a long time since United have played there and when there’s a fanatical crowd it’s nice to play in front of him.

“It will be a good atmosphere and I think it will motivate the players and we have to prepare for that.”
Man Utd (likely XI): De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Martinez, Shaw; Casemiro, Fred; Antony, Fernandes, Garnacho; Rashford.
