Erik ten Hag celebrates Man Utd return to Champions League with bike ride after begging owners for ‘better players’
ERIK TEN HAG celebrated Manchester United’s return to the Champions League with a bike ride.
The 53-year-old Dutchman oversaw United’s 4-1 win over Chelsea on Thursday.
And the result confirmed the Red Devils’ status as Champions League contenders for next season, leaving bitter rivals Liverpool unlucky.
After the brawl at Old Trafford, Ten Hag was spotted cycling in Cheshire on Friday.
As summer approached, he was spotted with his jacket draped over the front of his bike.
He was wearing a long-sleeved light gray shirt, black sneakers and dark gray pants.
However, despite making good progress in his first year, he believes there is still work to be done.
This begins in the summer as Ten Hag begs Man Utd bosses to get him ‘better players’.
After beating Frank Lampard’s ailing Chelsea, he said Sky Sports: “It’s a good base to build on, but standards need to rise and requirements need to rise.”
“We have to work with this squad in the summer, but we also have to strengthen with this squad in the time window.”

“We want to fight for the title, but it has to be realistic. It is what is there.”
“Now we’re far away so there’s still a lot to do but we need better players if we want to compete for the best.”
Harry Kane is at the top of United’s list of transfer targets, with Ten Hag reportedly “obsessed” with the Tottenham star.
However, conscious of Daniel Levy’s tough negotiating skills, United have put together a shortlist of six forwards should Kane prove unattainable.
Elsewhere, stars like Declan Rice and Mason Mount have been linked to relocations.
Defenders Kim Min-jae and Jermaine Frimpong are other stars targeted by the Red Devils this summer.
Ten Hag has been spotted on his bike before.
Earlier in the season he was spotted riding his bike with his wife Bianca before being photographed out and about on Valentine’s Day.
