Xtreme Couture coach Tim Lane has died unexpectedly at the age of 49. The former kickboxing champion was found dead in the Mount Charleston, Nevada area on Friday.
He was reported missing on Thursday but was finally found a day later. According to the Las Vegas Police Department, Lane was reported “in a state of mental distress and in need of medical assistance”.
Xtreme Couture head coach Eric Nicksick took to Instagram to confirm the tragic news and indicated that the likely cause of death was suicide. Nicksick says he was part of the manhunt that led to Lane’s body rehab.
In an emotional video, Nicksick said he is glad that he and other team members actively participated in the search for his colleague. He also urged everyone to look at each other and regret that there was nothing more could be done for his deceased friend:
“I think the best thing I can say in this situation is that I’m glad we were all here looking for him… it’s important for him to know, that Xtreme Couture and MVP His family looked for him and loved him… Here’s another friend and a coach that took his life, and this *** is getting heavy, bro. This *** is too early and I don’t quite understand what this is about and why, but make sure you tell your loved ones that you love them and check everyone out.”
