ERIC DIER suffered a horrific wound to his face after a vicious collision with Neal Maupay.
The Tottenham defender challenged the Brighton striker for their Premier League match at Amex.
With just eight minutes, Seagulls ace Maupay caught Dier with a swinging arm.
Dier’s blood ran down his face from above his right eye and nose from the horrible wound.
He was initially treated on the pitch by physicals before kick-off to get extra attention.
And the 28-year-old trotted back onto the pitch with a Terry Butcher-style headband wrapped around his head.
The England international was fortunate to not be seriously injured and was given the green light to continue playing despite disturbing initial scenes.
Burning Maupay received a yellow card for this defiant behavior as Spurs fans took to Twitter to praise Dier.
The club’s official account read: “I 💙 @ericdier,” accompanied by a photo of the brave star.
One supporter said: “True warrior.”

Another quipped: “Things are looking a bit out of the ordinary for Eric there, hope he’s okay.”
But one felt he should have been forced to stop amid concussion concerns and added: “Dier continues to be a real disgrace.”
