Eric Adams elected as New York Metropolis mayor

Democrat Eric Adams will be New York City’s 110th mayor, after defeating Republican Curtis Sliwa on Tuesday, a number of news retailers are projecting.
With 38 % of the estimated votes reported, Adams has 68.6 % of the vote, in comparison with Sliwa with 26.8 %. Adams, a former New York Metropolis police captain, would be the metropolis’s second Black mayor. He takes workplace on Jan. 1.
Adams has the help of outgoing Mayor Invoice de Blasio, in addition to centrists like former Mayor Michael Bloomberg. On the marketing campaign path, Adams targeted on how the town will get well economically from the coronavirus pandemic and public security, saying he opposes the abuse of stop-and-frisk practices and desires to see extra cops within the subways.
