Epic listened to community feedback and saved some snow in Fortnite

Christmas isn’t over until we SAY it’s over.

Epic seems to have listened to the community feedback and is keeping some snow in the Fortnite map.

Back when Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1 first came out, data tester looked at the game’s files and found screenshots of the game’s map over a period of time. These images imply that the snow that is covering most of the Island will slowly melt over the course of several weeks, leaving an entirely green and brown island with no other biomes in sight.

While many Fortnite players don’t like the snow all over the map, a good portion of the community agreed that at least some of the Islands should have some so that it’s not all jungle and canyons. Looks like Epic took that feedback on board, as the final version of the map no longer melted everything and instead kept a good chunk of snow in the northwest area of the map, near the Logjam Lumberyard .

This was pointed out by reliable Fortnite leaker Hypex. intended or not but the snow won” don’t melt anymore after this! “

While the re-emergence of the Leaning Tower has made it clear that Epic’s plan has always been to melt the snow up to a certain point, a review of the data shows that the map is perfectly clear about it, the community reacted to it. The outcry after seeing those leaks may have led Epic to listen and keep it from melting in any way. The current amount of snow on the map is also shown in the datamine, implying that Epic just prevented it from moving on to the next stage.

As with anything in Fortnite, it’s possible that this will change in the future and Epic will continue to melt it at a later date, but for now it looks like the snow is staying.
