England vs Scotland Rugby – Six Nations 2023: Kick-Off Time, Live Stream FREE, TV Channel, Team News for a HUGE clash
ENGLAND and Scotland face off on the opening day of the Six Nations at Twickenham.
It will be Steve Borthwick’s first game in charge after Eddie Jones was fired from the RFU in December.
Borthwick reinstated Owen Farrell as permanent captain after taking charge, with the veteran star back to face the Scots after a three-game suspension.
And the boss will be under pressure to deliver on the first try as England have lost their last two meetings with Scotland.
Last year, the Red Rose threw away a lead to lose 20-17 at Murrayfield, having lost 11-6 at HQ the year before.
In fact, England only won one of the last FIVE Calcutta Cup encounters between the two major rivals.
And a familiar face could return to haunt the hosts on Saturday.
Ruaridh McConnochie, who has two caps for England, is part of Scotland’s 40-man Six Nations squad.
The Bath winger scored a try for the Red Rose at the 2019 World Cup but has used new admissions laws to switch allegiance to Scotland after a three-year cooling off period.
Scotland will travel to Twickenham full of confidence after beating Argentina 52-29 in November.
England, on the other hand, endured a miserable autumn campaign, winning just one game out of four, resulting in Jones getting the boot.
Beaten by Argentina at Twickenham, they lost their last game to South Africa, interspersed with a win over Japan and a vibrant draw with New Zealand.
But they hope a new head coach at Borthwick will breathe new life into the team, especially with a World Cup looming in eight months.
First, however, the trifle of a Six Nations meeting at Twickenham between rugby’s oldest rivals.
