ENGLAND are keen to kick-start their Nations League season and move away from the bottom of the table with hosts Italy.

The Three Lions suffered a lackluster 1-0 defeat in their opening game in Hungary before a Harry Kane penalty secured a late 1-1 draw in Germany on Tuesday.

And this time they have the added incentive of avenging the Euro 2020 final.

Italy beat the Three Lions on penalties at Wembley last summer to deny them a first European Championship and bring the title to Rome.

But since then things have taken a turn for the worse for Roberto Mancini’s men and, unlike England, they will not take part in November’s World Cup.

Team News

Kalvin Phillips was substituted early on in England’s draw with Germany with a “heavy dead leg” and is a major doubt for the game.

Jack Grealish is likely to get a start after impressing as a substitute at Munich.

However, Trent Alexander-Arnold has left the squad.

Roberto Mancini is likely to start with one of Arsenal’s Gianluca Scamacca Giacomo Raspadori goal despite not scoring in the past few previous games.

First striker Ciro Immobile has been dropped from the squad.

Former captain Giorgio Chiellini retired from international football following the 3-0 defeat by Argentina at Wembley, while his successor Leonardo Bonucci was allowed to leave the squad.

Marco Verratti, Jorginho, Emerson Palmieri, Lorenzo Insigne and Andrea Belotti were also allowed to start their holidays.
