ENGLAND face their biggest test yet under Gareth Southgate when the Three Lions meet rivals France in the World Cup quarter-finals tonight.
So far it’s been a comfortable ride for Southgate and company after topping their group and beating Senegal 3-0 in the round of 16.
But France have superstar Kylian Mbappe, Qatar’s top scorer to date, in their ranks and will seek to do serious damage to England’s hopes of glory.

What’s new from the team and are there any injuries to worry about?
England fans had cause for concern earlier in the week when Declan Rice was reportedly ill – but he thankfully returned to training sessions.
John Stones and Callum Wilson are also plagued with minor issues, but both should at least make the team. Raheem Sterling is back from furlough after his home was broken into.
France were hit by some BIG injury news before a ball was even kicked, with star striker Karim Benzema out with an injury.
Lucas Hernandez also fell on the treatment table after doing his ACL.
Who will the star men be?
Jude Bellingham wowed the world with some stunning performances for England this winter.
Harry Kane has finally scored the goal his all-around play deserved – he may even be planning a late run for the Golden Boot.
For France, Kylian Mbappe, top scorer of the tournament, is the one for you. He looked practically unplayable.
Olivier Giroud became his country’s all-time leading goalscorer at this World Cup – and he offers his accomplice Mbappe a very different threat at the top.
What is head to head?
England have a brilliant record against France.
The Three Lions have won 17 of the 31 games they have faced, with France triumphing in nine draws and five.
But the last clash wasn’t great for England – Deschamps guided Les Blues to a 3-2 win in a 2017 friendly.
Ok, we’ll just let our hearts rule here.
England faces a monumental task in trying to stop Mbappe et al. out of the way, but a wave of euphoria sweeps across the nation…
Keep it up Gareth and the boys, YOU CAN DO IT!

Welcome to England vs France
England vs. France’s BIG World Cup quarter-finals are finally here!
As the clock rolls past 7pm tonight all eyes will be on Al Bayt Stadium as we bring you the latest game updates and matchmaking.
Raheem Sterling is back in the England camp after returning to Britain after news his home had been the subject of an armed robbery, and there is a chance he will still see action later against France.
England manager Gareth Southgate said: “He’s had two long flights and missed a lot of training with the team – we’re going into a game where you have to be fully involved.
“It’s great that we have the opportunity to have him back with us, that he’s back in the group, but in terms of involvement in this game it’s a little more complicated.”
The winner of tonight meets either Morocco or Portugal in the semifinals on Wednesday night.
So it won’t be long before it starts.
And we can’t wait!
