While Ben White and Raheem Sterling have both returned home due to personal issues, Gareth Southgate has not had any major injury concerns since his squad flew to the tournament.

And one way the Three Lions stars keep themselves in perfect shape is with the use of Therabody’s Muscle Gun.

Jordan Henderson was seen putting the device on his back and hamstrings ahead of the USA and Wales games before using it on James Maddison.

The Athletic has reported that Liverpool team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold is also using it.

Granit Xhaka from Switzerland and Bailey Wright from Australia are other fans of the product, which costs between £122 and £490 depending on the model.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a Therabody ambassador, while Kevin de Bruyne has even invested in the company, which also offers compression boots and vibrating foam rollers.

The gun is similar to a drill but has foam padding on the end that is used to directly treat awkward areas.

It was designed by doctor Jason Wersland after recovering from a shoulder injury following a motorcycle accident.

HOW TO GET FREE BETS ON THE WORLD CUP

Speaking of his recovery process, England midfielder Henderson said: “I’ve developed a solid routine for recovery when I’m at home, but in the past I’ve struggled when travelling.

“Being able to pull out the Theragun or put on the boots when sitting on planes and buses for a long time and getting stiff has made a huge difference.

“I didn’t realize that you could use them before activity or during halftime to have a great benefit for the body.

“For example, if you come in at half-time, sit down and listen to the coach talk, you stiffen before you get back on the pitch.

“Using the Theragun to maintain muscle and blood flow makes perfect sense to me.”
