England star Emily Robinson is determined to make Twickenham a home away from home while Roses prepares to take on arch-rivals Wales

EMILY ROBINSON is perhaps the trained carpenter in the English scrum.
But there is nothing special about the Harlequins flanker’s determination to make Twickenham a second home for the Red Roses.

Robinson made her debut this month in a stunning 68-5 win over Italy that continued the side’s 100 percent start to the TikTok Six Nations campaign.
Simon Middleton’s side are not overexerting themselves but know that the April 29 showdown against France at Twickenham will likely be the deciding factor.
And Robinson – who is working on a major refurbishment of their home alongside brother Will – is keen to prove she can be part of an England squad that will truly feel like they own the place by the time of the 2025 World Cup.
RFU chiefs have given pride of place to a new painting of the roses in Twickenham’s Presidential Dining Room, in a sign of how women’s rugby is growing.
Robinson said: “We want to entertain people and put bums in the seats.
“It involves building a fan base and people who want to come and watch you play.
“It was incredible to step onto the pitch in an English jersey for the first time in Northampton last week.
“The atmosphere was fantastic.

“But when we think about the World Cup you want that one big stadium and we need Twickenham to make it feel like a home stadium.
“That comes with things like painting murals.
“A lot of people have told me they think women’s rugby is a lot more fluid than men’s rugby.
“They love the skill and speed of the game and it’s gaining real interest, which is a result of how hard the girls have worked to get the game to where it is.”
Robinson’s younger sister is Exeter Scrum-Half Flo and she hopes it’s only a matter of time before they can play together for England.
She added: “Flo was unlucky. She was about to make her debut against France last year when the lights went out and the game was abandoned.
“But the idea of playing together is exactly what you’re aiming for.”
