SIR Elton John paid an emotional tribute to the late George Michael in front of 65,000 fans in Hyde Park last night.
The 75-year-old said “I love you and I miss you” while appearing on American Express Presents BST Hyde Park.
Superstar singer Elton dedicated his birthday to his close friend the day before his 59th birthday.
George was found dead at his home in Goring-on-Thames, Oxon on Christmas Day 2016. A coroner later ruled death of natural causes related to heart and liver disease.
Elton’s standout moment on stage had fans crying as they sang along to the famous track recorded by the music legends in 1991.
It was part of his string of impressive hits from Rocket Man, Tiny Dancer to Crocodile Rock and I’m Still Standing.
Elton played the piano and wore his famously flamboyant jackets in front of the huge crowd – many of whom were decked out in his iconic sparkly sunglasses and sequined outfits.
He commended their efforts and thanked everyone for coming to American Express Presents BST Hyde Park as part of Farewell Yellow Brick Road – The Final Tour.
