Emmy-nominated actress Barbara Bosson has died aged 83 after rising to fame playing Fay Furillo on Hill Street Blues

A LOVED actress best known for her performance on acclaimed NBC drama Hill Street Blues has passed away.
Barbara Bosson, who received Emmy nominations for five years in a row for her role as Fay Furillo, died Saturday, her family said. She was 83.

Her cause of death is currently unclear.
Bosson starred in the NBC drama, which was co-created by her husband Steven Bochco.
She also worked on three ABC drama series during her career: Hooperman from 1987 to 1989, Cop Rock from 1990 and Murder One from 1995 to 1997.
These shows were also created by her late husband who died of cancer in 2018.
The two met at Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh in the 1960s and married in 1970.
They shared success in the television world but thrived on the first five seasons of MTM Productions’ Hill Street Blues from 1981-1985.
