Elon Musk’s ties to Ron DeSantis emerge as the Florida governor tweeted that he would run for the White House in 2024

TWITTER owner Elon Musk has shown some signs in recent years that he may support Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the 2024 presidential campaign.
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Musk is not shy about expressing his political views, having spoken out in the past and criticizing members of both major US political parties.

Musk continued to speculate in the political world after it was reported Tuesday that DeSantis would officially start his 2024 presidential campaign in a conversation with Musk on Twitter Wednesday night.

Though Musk recently expressed support for the Republican Party, the billionaire last expressed his party affiliation in 2018 when he posted a clarifying tweet.
“To be clear, I’m not a conservative. [I] “I am registered as independent and politically moderate,” the tweet said.
Musk admitted last year that he had a long history of politically voting for the Democrats.
“I’m not sure, I might never have voted Republican, just to be clear,” Musk said while appearing via video at a tech summit hosted by the All-In Podcast.
“Now, in this election, I will do that,” he added.
In a tweet, Musk even went into more detail about his political stance.
“I used to vote for the Democrats because they were (mostly) the friendliness party,” he said.
“But they have become the party of division and hatred, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republicans.”
Musk acquired Twitter last year and began deleting notices on the social network asking users if the former president would return after his ban.
After Musk acquired the social media company last year, he allowed Twitter users to do so poll on whether President Donald Trump’s ban should be lifted.
With more than 15 million votes, over 51 percent of voters were in favor of putting Trump back on Twitter.
The poll closed after 24 hours, and Musk tweeted, “The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated.”

After noting that “at the end of his term, Trump would be 82 years old, which is too old to be the head of anything, let alone the United States of America,” Musk again hinted at possible support for the governor from Florida.
“If DeSantis faces Biden in 2024, DeSantis will win easily – he doesn’t even have to campaign.”
