Elon Musk is launching ‘Burnt Hair’ perfume for £93 – and he’s already sold thousands despite calling it ‘disgusting’.

ELON Musk seems to have turned another bizarre joke into a real product – when he launched a £93 perfume called Burnt Hair.
Thousands of bottles of the fragrance – touted as “the essence of repulsive desire” – have been sold in hours after the eccentric tycoon revealed it on Twitter last night.

A product shot shows the eau de cologne – jokingly dubbed Burnt Hair by Singed – in a bright red bottle surrounded by billowing smoke.
An uncredited testimonial on the sales page boasts, “Just like bending over a candle at the dinner table, but without all the hard work.”
Another says: “Stand out from the crowd! Make yourself noticeable when walking through the airport” — paraphrasing Musk’s own tweet joke last month.
Curious fans can buy a bottle today for $100 through Musk’s Boring Company website, and you can pay with Dogecoin in the US.

It costs £93 in the UK, plus a whopping £33 for international postage.
However, it doesn’t appear to actually ship until early next year, meaning it won’t arrive in time for Christmas.
Tesla and SpaceX boss Musk – the richest man alive – changed his Twitter bio to “perfume salesman” when he posted it last night.
He said it was “omnigeniger” and called it “the finest scent in the world”.
And he added: “With a name like mine, getting into the perfume business was inevitable – why did I fight it for so long anyway?”
Musk later tweeted that 10,000 bottles had been sold, earning him over $1 million in hours.
Hundreds of adoring fans revealed they bought one or even more.
Others liked Musk’s joke, quoting: “World-class trolling, the perfect sequel to not-a-flamethrower. 10/10.”
Another said: “Just ordered for my husband…unfortunately he doesn’t have hair to burn so…this is perfect.”
The Boring Company previously manufactured a flame gun called the Not-A-Flamethrower and sold all 20,000 units within days.
It started out as a hoax, but then Musk decided to make real ones to raise money for his tunneling project.
Twitter stunts
The launch of the perfume product comes two weeks after Musk pursued the idea in a series of tweets.
He said: “‘Burnt Hair’ – fragrance for men by Singed. Coming soon from @BoringCompany, the same people who sold you a flamethrower.
“Stand out from the crowd! Make yourself noticeable when you walk through the airport!”
After a stunned reaction from many online users, Musk added, “I think this joke is a slow burn…” with a drum roll emoji.
Musk is known for outlandish stunts on Twitter, some of which have landed him in hot water.
He has been heavily promoting the joke cryptocurrency Dogecoin, letting its price fluctuate wildly with his comments.
He is now being sued for a paltry $258 billion in a lawsuit alleging crypto fraud.
And he was rebuked by the US Securities and Exchange Commission after tweeting that he wants to put Tesla back into private ownership.
Musk was forced to step down as the electric carmaker’s chairman as part of a deal with regulators.
Meanwhile, Musk’s $44 billion acquisition of Twitter has returned after months of bitter legal battles.
After a U-turn, he said he wanted to make it “X,” his idea for a new “everything app.”
