Kanye West and Elon Musk have been friends for over a decade.

On December 23, 2011, Musk shared a picture of himself and West on Twitter.

He said, “Kanye stopped by the SpaceX rocket factory today.”

The couple formed a close friendship after this visit and have continued to support each other over the years.

Why was Kanye West suspended from Twitter?

Musk suspended West’s Twitter account after he tweeted an image of a swastika combined with a Star of David on December 1, 2022.

West, now called Ye, was initially banned from Twitter over anti-Semitic comments he made on October 9, 2022, saying he was going “death at 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.”

On Oct. 10, 2022, Musk tweeted, “I spoke to you today and expressed my concern about his recent tweet which I think he took to heart.”

Prior to West’s troubling comments, Musk tweeted to West on October 8, 2022, “Welcome back to Twitter my friend!”

This was in response to West’s return to the social media platform after a nearly two-year hiatus.

Musk took over the company in late October 2022 after buying it for $44 billion.

On the night of December 1, 2022, a Twitter user pleads: “ELON FIX KANYE PLEASE.”

Just after midnight Musk replied on December 2, 2022: “I tried my best. However, he again violated our policy against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended.”

As reported by The Guardian, West took to Donald Trump’s social media platform Truth Social to share screenshots of his alleged text messages with Musk.

According to the images, Musk told West: “Sorry, but you went too far. That’s not love.”

West replied, “Who made you a judge?”

West then posted a screenshot of his Twitter account showing that he was banned for 12 hours for tweeting.

West repeatedly made headlines in the fall of 2022 for his anti-Semitic comments and rants.
