She is being kept alive pending a determination of whether to donate organs that were not damaged in last Friday’s crash, Deadline reported.

“We want to thank everyone for their kind wishes and prayers for Anne’s recovery, and to thank the dedicated staff and wonderful nurses who took care of Anne at Grossman Burn Center at West Hills Hospital,” a representative of Heche’s family told Deadline.

“Unfortunately, as a result of her accident, Anne Heche suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and is in a critically comatose state. She is not expected to survive.

“It has long been her decision to donate her organs and she is being kept alive to see if any are viable.

“Anne had a big heart and touched everyone she met with her generous spirit.

More than her extraordinary talent, she saw it as her life’s work to spread kindness and joy – particularly to move the needle, to accept who you love.

She will be remembered for her brave honesty and will be greatly missed for her light.”

Heche suffered serious injuries after being thrown from her car into a house in a fire accident on August 5.

A representative for Anne, 53, told TMZ: “Shortly after the accident, Anne Heche passed out and went into a coma and is in critical condition.

“She has a significant lung injury that requires mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention.”

Dramatic photos of the wreckage show her mangled vehicle being towed away after Anne was pulled from the burning car by firefighters.

She was seen squirming in pain on a stretcher before being rushed to hospital after the impact around 11am.

It is reported that prior to the accident, which occurred in the Mar Vista area, she was driving at speeds of up to 90 miles per hour Los Angeles.

Video footage shows Anne speeding down a residential street in her blue Mini Cooper just before the devastating impact.
