Elevating Morale: Thanks and Devotion to SMITE’s Finchmas, ARK’s Extra Life, WOW’s Classic Against Cancer, and USO’s Play it Forward

And right on the horizon, Hi-Rez’s SMALL is preparing a memorial charity event this weekend called Finchmas in memory of a member who passed away earlier this year.

This year’s Veterans Day marks the start of the second annual Play it Forward gaming stream hosted by the United Service Organization (USO). Except this year, instead of only lasting one day, it lasted all weekend. For 72 hours, celebrities, gamers, influencers, and athletes joined members of the service to raise money for USO to help with its mission. create game centers that allow service members to relax, bond with their teammates, and even connect with family and friends back home. Since the game show began, USO has hosted 89 live streams featuring 11 USO Game Ambassadors, celebrity participation, and tournaments. Additionally, USO has several dedicated gaming zones within its malls, with more to open in the coming months. Christopher Plamp, USO Senior Vice President of Operations, Programs and Entertainment, said:

“Through the support of our partners and gaming community, USO is building a first-class gaming program that gives our military community the opportunity to relieve stress, entertain and connection. Video games can connect service members with their loved ones, civilians, veterans, and the broader community of players. We invite all members of the military community and military advocates to connect with us during an exciting 72 hours of playing some of the hottest video games on the market with celebrities and game players. ”

Charity livestream for Extra Life is going strong throughout October and early November and Studio Wildcard’s ARK: Survival Evolved jump right into action. During its annual charity live stream, the studio raised $187,764 for the Children’s Miracle Network. Thanks to the cooperation and solidarity of the community and the help of partners, sponsors, ARK landed on the leaderboards of both individual and group fundraisers. Well done, everyone!

Classic Fundraising

On November 30, Game Theory held a huge fundraiser for St. Jude. But before that, it invited people to join that mission with their own fundraisers throughout October. World of Warcraft Classic community answered the call and together Classic anti-cancer.
