Edge talks about his current backstory in WWE

WWE Hall of Fame Couple The edge and Beth Phoenix will team up this Saturday at the Royal Rumble.

WWE Hall of Famer recently sat down with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated ahead of this Saturday’s premium live event. When discussing forming a group with his wife Beth Phoenix against The Miz and Maryse, The Rating-R Superstar thought a match like this would never happen.

“We never thought this would be a possibility,” says Edge. “I was forced to retire [in 2011]. A year later, Beth retired. Then we started having children. Going back to wrestling has never been easy for me, let alone going back and being asked, ‘What do you think about working together for a month?’ We are having a lot of fun. Ride together, fly together. It’s the only part of work that can’t be fun sometimes, but when you have your best friend by your side, it’s so much more fun. “

Edge was quick to praise his Rumble rivals. He admits that he is a pleasure to work with The Miz and Maryse on Saturday because their commitment to being heel-toers makes things so easy.

The Canadian superstar also went on to express how excited and happy he was.

“What a surprise,” Edge continued. “I have no doubt it’s going to happen, and we’re having a good time. I think it shows. We have two opponents like Mike and Maryse who are absolutely determined. That’s it. makes everything so easy. I can’t wait. Rumble will be so much fun.”
