Eden Hazard suffers another knee injury as he is set to miss a £150m flop – his 18th setback since joining Real Madrid
REAL MADRID flop Eden Hazard’s injury hell continues with a blow to the left knee.
This is Hazard’s 18th setback since joining Real from Chelsea in 2019 for a club-record fee of £150million.
The reigning LaLiga champions announced the winger would be “under surveillance” before confirming the time he will spend on the touchline.
Real made the following statement: “Following the tests carried out on Eden Hazard today by Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with patellar tendinitis in his left knee and is under observation.”
Hazard was considered one of the best players in the world with 110 goals and 92 assists in 352 games for Chelsea.
The 32-year-old was also crucial in Belgium’s stunning 2018 World Cup season in which they finished third.
However, the forward has not lived up to expectations in the last four years at the Santiago Bernabeu.
In fact, the Belgian has managed just seven goals and 11 assists in just 73 games.
Hazard’s spell at Los Blancos has been marred by a string of injuries.
In his debut season, the attacker suffered a hamstring injury, a bruised ankle, a hairline fracture, a fibula tear, and an unidentified punch.

The Lille ex-star then suffered two unidentified punches, four separate muscle injuries and a battle with COVID-19 in the 2020-2021 campaign.
Last season, the 2015 Premier League Player of the Year struggled with a hamstring injury, muscle problems, abdominal flu and a fibular tear.
Hazard’s injury hell has continued this season with an ankle injury in January and another knee injury he’d just picked up.
The forward has recorded just one goal and one assist in seven games in all competitions this season.
His contract expires in 2024 and he is reportedly considering his future following links with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr club.
