Echo duck loves to play football after being taught by the owner for 10 weeks

ECHO the duck loves to play football – and is doing very well.

Owner Joe Nutkins, 42, taught her at 10 weeks old – and now the one-year-old bird is in her game’s beak.

She threw the ball with her bill along with three of Joe’s dogs, circling around like former England star Chris Waddle.

Joe, a dog trainer, said: “She absolutely loved it – she was such a talented little duck.

“I just put some of her favorite food near the ball and she started banging it around.

“Now if I drop anything, she’ll start pushing it around the floor.”

Dog trainer Joe said he was teaching the puppies to shoot via Zoom when Echo suddenly joined in.

Then he taught her some ball skills – and found her to have a quacking technique.

Animal lover Joe, who also owns parrots, quails, roosters and 40 chickens and ducks, said: “During the day Echo comes to the house and practices with the dogs.

“Surprise. None of our other ducks have played before.”

Joe, of Little Oakley, Essex, also denied the claims she supported Quackburn.

“She was a Colchester United fan through and through,” he said.
