EastEnders fans stunned as the soap extra “speaks up for the first time” and snubs Kim

EASTENDERS fans were stunned as long-running soap opera Marie Evans “got her say” for the first time.
The actress, who has been acting as a soap opera since 2003, plays the waitress at Kathy’s cafe.
On Thursday’s episode, viewers were thrilled to see Marie prevail over loudmouth Kim.
Aspiring influencer Kim swam into the cafe and greeted Marie, but then told her she was getting her usual “on the house.”
But Marie, who is normally silent on the BBC One show, slammed Kim, telling her she would have to cough up the money at the request of owner Kathy Beale.
In response to Kim’s demands, Marie hit back: “Kathy said you have to pay!”
Viewers were ecstatic when one of the longest-serving extras finally found his voice.
One wrote: “Did I just hear Marie speak? This must be a first. #EastEnders.”
“The waitress in the cafe finally said something after so many years. #EastEnders,” wrote another.
A third said: “Marie taking on Kim is a joke. #EastEnders”
One of Marie’s few speaking roles was in 2016 when Tina Carter had to leave the coffee shop and asked her to fill in for the rest of the shift.
Her other storylines included her joining the book club in 2010 following the departure of Tanya Branning and Jane’s vacation in America.
At one point, her employer Ian Beale stole a home video of her birth to discourage his daughter Lucy Beale from having a baby.
She is one of the longest serving extras alongside market stall owner Winston and barmaid Tracey.
