EastEnders’ Bernadette star Clair Norris reveals the two heartbreaking items she keeps in her dressing room

EASTENDERS star Clair Norris has revealed she keeps two items on top of the soap in her dressing room – to remind her where she started.

The 24-year-old actress – who plays Bernadette – explained she had a framed picture of the other Taylors and said they were like real family.

She holds it next to another shot of her acting in college theater to show her how far she’s come.

Clair told OK!: “The two things that I had with me from the start and that are still with me are two picture frames.

“One shows The Taylors from our very first shoot. When my first episode aired, my mom held a small gathering and one of my friends framed a picture of The Taylors and gave it to me as a gift.

“Then there’s one of my college drama groups that has a little quote on it.”

She explained that Lorraine Stanley, who plays Karen Taylor on the soap opera, has become like a second mother to her.

Clair’s character, Bernadette, is one of many Taylors to have frequented Albert Square over the years.

Her siblings have dated Keanu Taylor and Keegan Baker over the years, both breaking up in the wake of emotional storylines.

Meanwhile, Chatham and Riley Taylor have not appeared in EastEnders since 2020.

Discussing her cast, Clair explained: “I never in a million years thought my first television role would be in EastEnders.

“It’s surreal, but I’m so grateful to be given the opportunity.”

The Taylor family stormed into Albert Square in June 2017 and Bernadette made quite an impression when the teenager became pregnant within weeks of joining the show.

After fans assumed it was her brother Keanu, it was revealed to be someone from her school.

Sadly, Bernadette lost her baby at 18 weeks due to the stress of a terrible gas explosion.
