DWTS’ Tyra Banks slammed model “body shaming” in resurfaced ANTM clip and fans are “shocked she wasn’t canceled”.

DANCING WITH THE STARS’ Tyra Banks was slammed for “body shaming” a plus size model in a resurfaced America’s Next Top Model clip.
Tyra Banks, 48, created and hosted the long-running televised modeling degree.

In a resurfaced clip, Tyra and her panelist consistently make derogatory remarks when commenting on or directly addressing contestant Robin’s body.
Early in the mash-up of scenes, as the debate over which grouping Robin should be placed in, Janice Dickinson, the most vocal jury member, asks condescendingly, “Are we shooting for the plus-size category?”
Tyra agrees, “Yes, Robin would portray a plus-size model.”
The DWTS host then adds, “One issue I have with Robin…I think the top isn’t oversized and the bottom is.”

Janice replies in her typically naughty way, “Robin is, as far as I’m concerned, being a supermodel… I just think America’s Next Top Model isn’t a plus-size model.”
Tyra doesn’t entirely agree, but replies again, “I just wish her upper body was bigger and matched her lower body better.”
In a second excerpt, Tyra approaches Robin and asks, “Do you have to be covered all the time?”
She continues, referring to her butt and thighs covering her sarong: “That says oh I have hips so I cover them.”
The remark makes Robin cry.
The rest of the clip shows more of that.
Janice calls Robin “fat” while another judge calls the twenty-something model “old”.
Later, Tyra asks the contestant, “Robin, you should have a nude photo shoot, we don’t have a photo for you this week [and] why is that?”
Robin finally gets a chance to speak out, saying, “I didn’t mean to make myself uncomfortable. My body is mine…I just didn’t think I had to do that to progress.”
Fans of the show opened up about Robin’s treatment and how that mindset affected their own self-image on Reddit.
One person wrote: “Sometimes I wonder why I am the way I am and then I remember watching this show when I was eight.”
A second Redditor added, “I don’t even know how people of my generation made it after watching these shows.”
Another added, “I can’t believe I ran home after school every day to watch this show on oxygen only to develop body dysmorphia because of it.”
While a fourth commented on the unrealistic picture that society is pushing women to achieve.
“Our perception [of] Women’s bodies will NEVER stop surprising me. When will [we] only allowed to exist. If DAS is plus-size, then it should be slim.”
SHADOWING A SUPERMODEL
Former Dancing with the Stars host Erin Andrews has been subtly shadowing Tyra Banks after it was announced earlier this year that DWTS was moving from ABC to Disney+ for the next two seasons.
The TV personality spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the serious departure from ABC.
Erin shared how she felt about the decision and appeared to shadow Tyra as she did so.
Speaking to the outlet, the FOX Sports host said, “I’ve obviously seen it from all the dancers who have posted it, so I just hope they’re ok and happy about it.”
“That’s where my love and devotion is, it’s these guys. Well, as long as they’re all good.”
The 44-year-old was dropped from the show ahead of the season 29 airing alongside co-host Tom Bergeron.
By calling out the dancers, many of whom Erin has worked with on the show, that seems to cast a shadow over Tyra, who replaced her.
Erin mentioned that she was planning to take Tom to lunch when it was announced that NFL star Tom Brady would be joining her at FOX Sports after he announced his retirement, but had to cancel due to breaking news.
“But I miss that guy a lot, Tom Bergeron, and I hope to see him soon… He’s the best,” Erin said.
DANCING WITH HOLLYWOOD
Dancing with the Stars fans have discovered a key clue that Tyra Banks won’t be returning as host for season 31.
The ongoing fan speculation comes as sources have insisted to The Sun that the 48-year-old has been fired from her hosting gig.
On Monday, Deadline revealed that Tyra had landed a brand new on-screen job, this time in acting.
The model signed on to star in a remake of the 1991 comedy Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead.
The original film followed five siblings who were left to fend for themselves after their babysitter died while their mother was out of town.
Christina Applegate played 17-year-old Sue, the eldest sister forced to face the situation and care for her siblings after the babysitter’s death.
The remake will be a retelling of the present and Tyra will take on the role of fashion executive Rose, portrayed by Joanna Cassidy in the original.
But with the new performance and production starting in July, fans are thinking it could mean she’s one with DWTS.
Sharing the news, a fan on Reddit speculated, “She’s just signed up for a new movie – could that be a sign she’s officially out?”
Another said they wanted that to be true, writing, “I hope she goes… I don’t want her to come back.”

While DWTS has yet to announce the host for the upcoming season, a source told The Sun, “There hasn’t been an official decision on who will be hosting next season, but it doesn’t look like Tyra is returning.
“Which would be a decision of the network, not their decision.”
