TYRA Banks has announced that she is stepping down after two years as the host of Dancing With The Stars.
The former supermodel, 49, said she “thinks it’s time” to put the Disney+ dance competition behind her.
Tyra told TMZ, “I think it’s about time. I think my heart and soul is in my business. It’s also about producing television.
“I really, really want to focus on my business and you can’t do that while hosting a show.
“So you’re going to see how I create things, not just host them.”
The presenter explained that she is shifting her focus to her ice cream business SMiZE and Dream, which she founded in 2021.
“I’m really focused on the business, like crazy,” she told the outlet Thursday.
“SMiZE and Dream is global, so I think it’s time to really focus on my business and entrepreneurship.”
She added: “I think it’s time to move from the dance floor to the stock market. Microphone failure.”
The TV personality co-hosted season 31 of DWTS last year with The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star Alfonso Ribiero.

It’s unclear if Tyra will continue to serve as an executive producer on the show.
Tyra’s exit comes after The US Sun exclusively revealed bosses were planning to replace the model with a new host.
In December, a source close to executive producers said they were considering a revamp in the new year, with staff pushing for “a new host, new judges and more notable candidates.”
The insider claims senior production staff are most interested in attracting viewers, and they believe a casting facelift could do just the right thing.
Producers told the source that the show “needs to be more adventurous, original and fresh-faced.”
The insider claimed many show producers felt the postponement could start by giving the boot to Tyra.
The insider says tensions have been growing with the former America’s Next Top Model host and many co-stars are shocked she’s still a presenter, especially given all the social media backlash against her.
According to the source, DWTS producers feel that “Tyra had a hard time warming up to the team, the contestants and certainly the audience.
“There seems to be a disconnect with viewers again, which is always a cause for concern.”
The insider continued, “We’re still getting emails and comments about her performance and it’s upsetting.
“The team works extraordinarily hard to deliver the best series every year, but the main reason for the fans’ excitement is the host.”
In the last two seasons, Tyra has received a lot of backlash for her performance, wild outfits and some big mistakes on the air, including screwing up a business card in an elimination round.
“There are also concerns that she hasn’t done as much promotion for the show as we would like,” the source continued.
“Other hosts do a plethora of interviews and promote their shows, but she hasn’t been in the public eye at all.
“It’s annoying. If she didn’t have her role as executive producer, some of us think she would have gone already.”
CALLS TO BE FIRED
Back in November, fans were clamoring for Tyra to be fired and replaced with Bachelorette star Gabby Windey, who was then running for Season 31.
One viewer wrote: “Petition for Gabby to take over Tyra’s job next season. #DWTS.”
The tweet received a slew of comments from fans who were on board with the move, with another writing, “got the words out of my mouth!!!!!”
A third echoed the suggestion: “Yes!!!! This 1000x,” while a fourth agreed, “Thank goodness. I’ve already stopped watching.”
And another added: “DWTS is having a great season. It would be so much better without Tyra! She’s so wrong for this job. There are so many others who could do a much better job. Please replace them.”
A week earlier, Tyra seemingly ruffled judge Len Goodman’s feathers when the pair had an awkward exchange during the live program.
The spectacular moment came after Charli D’amelio and Mark Ballas finished their Argentine tango to a thunderous ovation from the fans.
Len said to Charli, “You just moved effortlessly across the floor. I was transported to a club in Argentina.
“Your dancing just sends chills down my spine, well done.”
Tyra then chimed in, “I heard the audience make a noise when Len said he was transported to a club in Argentina,” while poking fun at what the judge would look like dancing.
“What are you talking about, a club?” Len asked, looking confused at fellow judge Derek Hough.
“I dont know what you are talking about.”
Seconds later, the famous model rushed to Len to explain what had just happened.
“When you said club, they laughed!” Tyra told him again, mocking his dancing when Len finally acknowledged the joke and looked away.
Fans were quick to note the moment, as they took to Twitter to insist that Len “don’t like” Tyra.
