Dunkin’ customers are only just realizing rewards aren’t the same in every store – and people are annoyed

DUNKIN’ customers have found that their Dunkin’ Rewards and app do not work in every location, including one of the busiest stores.

Various customers have shared their complaints online, making it clear that Dunkin’ locations in Penn Station, New York do not accept use of the app.

These issues have existed for years, and since 2019 people have been sharing their grievances on social media.

While Dunkin’ has responded on various occasions, the issue appears to remain unresolved.

DUNKIN’ CUSTOMER RESPONSE

“Penn Station really is a miserable dump of scum and scoundrels… Dunkin’ won’t accept the rewards app,” someone wrote a few years ago.

A more recent complaint from 2021 said the same thing.

“Why does your store at Penn Station NYC advertise the Dunkin’ app but when I went to pay they said they didn’t accept it? That doesn’t make sense,” wrote a customer named Darrion.

“Hello Darrio! Please DM us your perks email and screenshot of the action so we can take a look for you. Thanks!” Dunkin replied.

Despite the fact that Darrion claimed to have contacted the store via DM, there was reportedly no response.

“NY Penn Station’s Amtrak level location, closer to 8th Avenue, refuses to accept the app’s Dunkin’ gift cards,” one user wrote in January of this year.

THE DUNKIN’ APP

The Dunkin’ app is one of the most useful tools for the store’s repeat visitors.

The app offers users the ability to skip lines and order in advance, even earn free food and drinks after earning certain reward points, check out faster, and more.

The US Sun reached out to Dunkin’ for comment.

REWARD PROGRAMS

Rewards programs are a popular way for customers to earn free groceries while spending at their favorite places.

Chick-fil-A will be introducing changes to its Chick-fil-A One rewards program on April 4th.

T-Mobile has also launched a rewards program that can be used on meals.

Target plans to help shoppers save by introducing ‘private label’.

Starbucks updated their rewards program and it’s now harder to get freebies.
