Drivers are just realizing there’s a hidden button that can make it easier to see their mileage – it just takes a twist

A YOUTUBER shared that drivers who own a Toyota 2022 have a hidden feature that makes reading the vehicle information screen much easier.
A new Toyota’s vehicle information screen is important to drivers as it shows the mileage, estimated miles to empty and even the outside temperature.

However, there’s a hidden feature on new Toyotas that makes reading the stats easier that you probably didn’t know about.
YouTuber @TheUnrestricted used his new 2022 Toyota Tacoma to show his followers this handy little-known trick.
“If you have a Toyota, it’s a little secret that not many people know,” he said.
After starting the vehicle, he began scrolling through the options presented on the vehicle information screen.

At the bottom left of the screen is a button that owners typically press to reset their mileage after refueling.
“Typically this is just used to switch your odometer to Trip,” he said. “But if you just turn that little knob, it can actually change the brightness of the screen.”
If you scroll all the way to the left, the screen will dim – useful for driving on darker nights.
Turning the knob all the way to the right makes it brighter, making it easier to see for daytime rides.
Comments on the video were quite mixed, with some suggesting that this mystery would have been solved by those who read the instruction manual.
One commenter happened to be a technician at a Toyota dealer who had never heard of this trick.
“Toyota technician for two years, I never knew that,” said @leckercidre160.
Another Tacoma co-owner ensured that this video would definitely be a good addition to the internet.
“I was looking for the dimmer switch in my Tacoma,” said @quintosborn3412. “Thank you very much!”
Others mentioned that the dimmer switch looks slightly different depending on the Tacoma model year.
“Previously, it was just the shutter release button,” said @jimbob6261. “Mine has a little mouse scroll wheel to the left of the steering wheel.”
