The new discovery also means you can keep other items cool, like snacks or even clothing like a baseball cap.
TikToker @mrjust4fun posted a video presenting his recent revelation.
“I was years old today when I found out…” he wrote.
The clip then showed a driver opening the glove box to reveal a row of soda cans.

There is a vent control button in the upper right corner of the compartment, which you can use to open it to allow cool air to get inside.
While the clip was shot in a Volkswagen Tiguan, the clip states, “Apparently most new cars have it.”
Another Tiktoker, Kyran Nijjar (@kyran) also featured the “life hack that will change your life”.
He calls it “the best thing ever invented” as viewers said some BMW, Kia, VW and Mercedes models were equipped with it.
However, some viewers didn’t believe it was as great as Kyran made it out to be.
One said: “Some cars use some of the gas with the air conditioning on, so that’s not really a good thing.”
Another added: “Watch your gas needle drop when you could go shopping, go to the fridge and buy a cold one.”
Meanwhile, Reddit users have also made the same discovery, calling it “such a handy feature when you need it”.
One user said, “I had a four-hour drive ahead of me on a 95-degree day and got a cold sandwich wrapped up for dinner later on the drive.”
“The air conditioning was barely enough to keep the main cabin cool.
“So I put the sandwich in the glove box, opened the glove box vent to get the awesome air conditioning and it successfully kept my Sammie cold for about two hours before I could eat it! Pretty neat.”
Meanwhile, another said he’s heard it’s a feature that “used to prevent your cassettes from warping in the heat”.
So the next time you’re gearing up for a summer road trip, check if you have a secret vent to keep your drinks and snacks cool.
