Driver injured, dog missing after car crash north of Guelph, Ont.

OPP is asking for the public’s help in finding missing dog who ran away after a collision takes place north of Guelph, Ont.


At around 3 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a vehicle collision at Trafalgar Road and Sideroad 17, near Hillsburgh, police said.

The missing dog was reunited with its owner almost two weeks later in Innisfil, Ont.

Police said the driver suffered life-threatening injuries.

A one-and-a-half year old white sheepdog named Deeks was a passenger in the car.

Police say he was scared and fled the scene. He has a collar but no tags.

OPP is asking people in the area to call the police or local animal services if they see a large white feral dog.

After the collision, the road was closed for about five hours and has since reopened.
