Calling all anime fans, drive home has an official release date! This is not an exercise. I repeat, drive home has a release date and is scheduled to hit Netflix in September 2022!

Netflix already has a wide range of anime movies and series on its platform, but we can’t wait to see all of the streamer’s new additions throughout the year. In 2022, we’ve already seen the releases of Tiger & Rabbit 2, ultraman season 2 and Pacific Rim: The Black Season 2. In addition, we will soon see the releases of bladder, vampire in the garden, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean Part 2 and many others.

But one new release we’re absolutely excited about is the release of drive home. We’re super excited to share with you everything there is to know about the upcoming anime movie, including the release date, synopsis, voice cast and more!

Get ready to mark your calendars and set your alarm because the upcoming anime movie will be released on Netflix on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. PT / 3:00 p.m. ET. If you live in the Midwest, you can expect the original film to be released at 2:00 PM CT on the release date.

Synopsis of Drifting Home

The drama anime is about two childhood friends (Kosuke and Natsume) who drift apart as they grow older. But one day during summer vacation, Kosuke, Natsume and their classmates sneak into their old haunted apartment complex. While playing, they mysteriously lose consciousness. As soon as they wake up, they see a vast ocean in front of them, while the apartment complex has drifted into a mysterious sea. The group of friends must then team up to find out what happened and how to get back home.
