Terrifying footage shows a group of officers in stilettos breaking in through the front window of the compound.

One by one, police climbed a small ladder and entered the house, where a five-day siege involving a man and his eight-year-old son was underway.

The clip, which appears to have been filmed by a neighbour, shows the SWAT team running out of the house shortly after with the boy in their arms and quickly carrying the boy to safety.

Meanwhile, screams can be heard from inside the house as more police officers exit. There was no sign that the father would leave with them.

Last night, a West Midlands Police spokesman said: “The siege in Coventry was safely ended this evening after officers entered a property where a father was barricaded with his young son since Sunday.

“The firearms officers arrived just after 8:30pm.

“A 41-year-old man is currently in custody, where he will be assessed by mental health professionals.

“His son, who is believed to be unharmed physically, is staying with another family and will receive any necessary professional support with any emotional and medical need.” economic.”

The spokesman added that the standoff had been “prolonged, difficult and frustrating”.

Emergency crews swooped onto a street in Coventry, West Midlands, to conduct checks on a man and an eight-year-old child shortly after midnight on Sunday.

That means the police were detained for 60 hours and counting as the tense case developed.

The 41-year-old was “supposedly armed,” police said.

Attempts to negotiate with the man were accelerated when specialist officers were dispatched to find a way to resolve the situation.

A primary school remained closed today to ensure the safety of students while nearby roads were closed as tensions continued to unfold at Victoria’s housing estate.

Residents trapped in tethered areas must be escorted in and out of their homes by officers.
