dr GMA’s Jennifer Ashton apologizes to colleagues after “bursting her bubble” with serious talks
GMA star Jennifer Ashton has apologized to her co-hosts for appearing to burst her bubble during a candid on-air chat.
The popular TV health professional gave viewers a number of tips on Wednesday on how to improve their sleep.
During the conversation with DeMarco Morgan and Rhiannon Ally, Jen referred to sleep as the “elusive Holy Grail.”
She recommended improving waking up at the same time every day.
Jen added: “That really includes the weekends. I’m sorry I burst this bubble. You can’t make up for lost sleep at the weekend.”
The doctor also encouraged people to avoid prolonged naps during the day.
She suggested that a 10- to 20-minute nap was “fine,” which shocked DeMarco and Rhiannon.
He interjected: What’s 10 minutes? Three kids, right?”
It’s not the first time Jen has had an honest discussion with her co-stars about the importance of sleep.
In January, she referred to research that suggested, “As we get older, our sleep suffers more and we can’t afford it.”

Stressing the importance of good “sleep hygiene,” Jen warned DeMarco, “That means you.”
DeMarco and Rhiannon burst out laughing after the light-hearted jibe.
During the segment, DeMarco told viewers that he kept telling himself to put away his devices and get off social media.
But he admitted the goal never seems to materialize, adding: “It never works.”
During GMA3 broadcasts, Jen often addresses a health-related question asked by viewers.
Earlier this week she spoke about the potential benefits of juice cleanses.
In the first month of the year, a number of people, including A-listers, turned to liquid eating for a few days to shed extra pounds or to feel rejuvenated after overindulging over the festive season.
And The US Sun reported how Jen announced the idea of GMA3 presenting a show at the Grammy Awards next year.
She said to DeMarco and Rhiannon, “Just throw it out there.”
On Monday’s show, she and her co-hosts spent some time discussing the ceremony, which took place in Los Angeles.
The trio gushed about their favorite performances and Star Night winners.
DeMarco and Rhiannon have been playing at GMA3 for several weeks when they replaced TJ Holmes and Amy Robach, who were pulled off the air late last year over rumors of an alleged affair.
DeMarco and Rhiannon previously told viewers that they would fill in for the hosts at the start of each show.
Robach and Holmes have since left ABC after a weeks-long internal investigation.
