Donald Glover’s Atlanta season 3 trailer reveals March release

Atlanta fans received a surprise Christmas present this year in the form of a new trailer for the show’s third season. While the film won’t be released for a few more months, this new trailer will bring the cast to Europe. Donald Glover, LaKeith Stanfield, Zazie Beetz and Brian Tyree Henry will all return for the new season, which is set to be released on March 24, 2022 on Hulu and FX.

The third season of Atlanta takes Paper Boi and Earn to Europe to explore the music and cultural scene along the way, but if this trailer is any indication, the show will be just as weird as it was when the crew was in Atlanta. While there are probably still a lot of surprises left to be revealed, this trailer seems to suggest that much of season 3 could take place in the Atlantic, rather than in the United States.

This is the second trailer FX has released for the new season of the show, and the second the carrier has released a trailer on a holiday. On Halloween, Glover tweeted out a link to a weird fit intro that shows the lights on the ominous locations set for Sun Ra’s song “Apocalypse Has Come”. While this new trailer is a bit less creepy, it doesn’t necessarily reveal much more about what’s really going on in season 3.

Glover will once again act as Atlantathe main writer of the third season. We don’t know for sure if director Hiro Murai will return to direct some episodes for season 3 – as he did with previous seasons – but since he’s one of the show’s executive producers, so it looks like he’ll be back. AtlantaThe previous season ended in 2018 and Glover has decided to take a short break from the series, which is why there will be a four-year gap between seasons 2 and 3.
