Will Estes, it turns out, believes “Blue Bloods” could do with a bit of background music. In an interview with Nerds of Color, the star revealed that he’d love to do a full episode of the show and if he had his way, he’d go all the way nine yards and make the whole thing a dream one of existing character. Furthermore, it seems that he is not alone in this.
Estes revealed, “We’ve all talked about making a musical episode ‘it’s all just a dream.” “As in, one of the characters wakes up and dreams of a musical version. of the episode ‘Blue Bloods’. I really don’t think that’s going to happen. Haha!”
Hilarious because the idea of Tom Selleck choreographing the show’s tunes might seem like it at first, but Estes’ half-joking idea might not be as far-fetched as it initially appears. From “Lucifer” “Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam” and “Psych” “Psych: The Musical” to “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” “Once More, With Feeling,” certain non-musical shows have a long history of giving in Broadway freaks in specials. Even HBO’s grim prison drama “Oz” made a musical episode, “Variety.” Know all this and remember the star “Blue Blood” Donnie Wahlberg ever being in a little band called New Kids on the Block, an episode sounds like a pretty cool possibility, doesn’t it?
