The parties failed
Does Captain Hindsight want the police involved in Downing Street parties?
The hypocritical and contradictory acts of exposing Keir Starmer and other Remainer politicians desperate to topple Boris Johnson are now mind-boggling.
How outraged Labour’s leadership was – strangely self-righteous for a man posing for a beer at a “work event” while locked up – had shouted at the police to visit. Look for similar sinks at No10.
Except now that the Met HAS has waded in and thrown a giant wrench in its works, Starmer blatantly claims that Boris is “using the police as a shield”.
Meanwhile the SNP and the Lib Dems, still purportedly serious parties, openly hinted – without evidence – that Downing Street and the police were colluding to save Boris’ bacon.
The Sun is no fan of Met chief Cressida Dick. But for top politicians to claim she is backing Boris seems far-fetched and even smeared.
It’s certainly more likely that sheer incompetence, or overzealousness for some complex legal technique, is the reason behind the Met’s fear Sue Gray’s report could compromise a valuable investigation. their £1 million.
However, it is not difficult to imagine the torment of the Opposition. Assuming they’ve cornered Boris and been mortally wounded, they’re driven mad as he seems to be dusting himself once more and preparing to flee.
Don’t misunderstand us. We want the Gray report to be released in full, not some heavily censored version right now that’s coming out next week. The attorneys say the investigation can’t compromise the low-level non-jury charges anyway.
The police should back off, let her publish it, then let the chips fall where they can.
BORIS and Rishi Sunak have both distanced themselves from the hateful April tax hike at times. But not anymore.
Now both insist a price increase, to pump billions of dollars more into the bottomless pit of the NHS, will be underway. And both must then renounce any claims to be low-tax Tories.
The low tax Tories did not raise the overall burden to a 70-year high. Not when that is clearly damaging, and especially when larger-than-forecast sales allow for their inability to do so.
That would be a profound mistake and, at a hefty price tag, a masterpiece of bad timing. We will all be poorer, with growth stifled, inflation higher, and our Covid recovery already backing out.
It is the opposite of what Brexit means. And if the waiting list is NOT cut quickly, Boris and Rishi will pay a huge political price.
There is still time for them to see meaning.
Lie to Putin
VLADIMIR Putin stated he had “no intention to attack” in Ukraine.
Move on, Comical Ali. For brazen lies, the Russian gangster boss cannot be defeated.
