Netflix resident Evil is out in just a few days and many fans of the franchise are excited to see what the next chapter of this popular and legendary horror series has in store. Over the years, resident Evil has grown into a massive world of its own with video games, movies, tv shows, merchandise, comics and more.

It’s understandable that fans, especially newcomers to the franchise, might be curious as to whether or not they must have played the games or tried their hand resident Evil Media before to understand the new series.

No, you don’t have to have played the games to enjoy or understand the show! Many characters and details from the series are new or original and were created specifically for the show.

However, if you’re a big fan of the games, you’ll appreciate many of the references and Easter eggs present in the series. You’ll recognize familiar names and even some of the monsters are identical to what you see in the games.

Still, the show explains things, but those who’ve played the games will find a ton of fun stuff from across the franchise.

Even if you’ve never heard of it resident Evil Before that, you can still watch and enjoy the show alone!

Next to the games, the next most well-known aspect is the resident Evil Franchise is the long-running film franchise, specifically the films starring Milla Jovovich. The good news is that you don’t have to have seen the movies to see the show as the two aren’t related. The films are based on the games themselves, so aren’t the original source material anyway.
