The video shows the jet struggling to cope with the strong winds brought by Hurricane Dudley.

City’s plane had to make THREE turns before landing which was deemed too dangerous.

And instead, it was forced to divert from mid-air to land at Liverpool.

High winds meant the plane was unable to land at Manchester Airport, leading to a late change 31 miles away.

The club released a short statement about Twitter It read: “We can confirm the plane carrying the first team home from Lisbon has landed safely in Liverpool, after high winds forced a divert from Manchester.”

Cyclone Dudley has brought severe weather conditions to Manchester and the Met Office has issued a ‘danger to life’ warning across the area.

The Met Office also issued a yellow and amber warning with expected winds of around 47 mph by the time the City makes landfall.

Trains M60 and M56 were delayed and Manchester Piccadilly train station was also flooded by the storm.

Heavy rain also caused Sheffield Wednesday’s home match against Accrington Stanley to be canceled postponed due to flooded yard.

City have returned to the UK from Portugal after their Champions League visit to Sporting Lisbon.

Pep Guardiola’s team blow away the Portuguese champion with a 5-0 victory as Bernardo Silva scores.

‘CLOSE TO THE PERFECT GROUP’

Old player Owen Hargreaves was very impressed with the performance and told BT Sport after the game: “There’s no such thing as a perfect team, but they’re almost a perfect team if any right now.

“When they’re as clinical and effective as they were in the first half, I don’t think anyone can come close to them.

“In the second half, if anything, they were out of gas because they had only one shot on target. I don’t know how you beat them, I’m telling the truth.

“In the past we used to look at them and say ‘they’ll give you a chance’. They don’t give you a chance anymore.”

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Mother Dolores Aveiro was also present at the match last night cheering for her beloved Sporting – though CR7 is playing against Brighton.
