Disturbing details about Half Moon Bay ‘gunman’ Chunli Zhao who ‘killed 7 employees over $100 forklift bill’

A FARM worker accused of killing seven people in a horrific shooting spree was allegedly motivated by a $100 repair bill his boss sent him for a broken-down forklift.

Half Moon Bay suspect Chunli Zhao, 66, shared the new details with investigators, telling them he had insisted his colleague was the one who should be charged, but instead he was charged, which was made him angry, San Mateo District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe told the Bay Area News Group Friday.

Zhao, speaking in Mandarin, admitted to the murders during a prison interview with NBC Bay Area’s Janelle Wang of Redwood City.

Zhao worked as a forklift operator at two mushroom farms in Half Moon Bay, Northern California.

He claimed he endured poor working conditions, such as long hours and bullying, and filed several grievances, but the company claims it is not aware of any grievances.

During the interview, Zhao said that he was suffering from a mental illness and that he had no setback when buying his gun.

He also blamed his mental illness for the shootings and said he was out of his mind.

Wang said that Zhao expressed remorse about the shooting.

The Chinese farm worker killed the boss and his colleague along with two other employees and wounded another in the California Terra Garden.

He then drove a forklift to the other farm he worked at, Concord Farms, which is a short drive away, and fatally shot three former employees.

The coroner’s office has named six of the victims: Zhishen Liu, 73, of San Francisco; Marciano Martinez Jimenez, 50, of Moss Beach, California; Aixiang Zhang, 74, from San Francisco; Qizhong Cheng, 66, from Half Moon Bay; Jingzhi Lu, 64, from Half Moon Bay; and Yetao Bing, 43, whose hometown was unknown.

According to the indictment documents, Jose Romero Perez was identified as the other person killed and Pedro Romero Perez as the eighth victim who survived.
