However, all Dunn Tire locations will continue to operate under the current brand name.
In addition, all Dunn Tire retail management and store employees will retain their jobs.
Robert Clark, a Dunn Tire executive, will continue to manage the company’s day-to-day operations.
Meanwhile, Discount Tire senior vice president Chris Adams will oversee the business.
“We have the utmost respect for the strong culture that Discount Tire has cultivated over time Story” Dunn Tire Chairman Randall Clark said in a statement.
“In searching for the right partner who would maintain the highest standards of care and respect for our employees and customers, it became clear that only Discount Tire could offer.”
Dunn Tire investors will remain independent owners of Exxpress Tire Delivery – a wholesale distribution company that operates five distribution centers in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.
The company employs more than 200 people and sells all major brands.
It continues to be led by current president David Simons and vice presidents Paul Pittner and Stephen Clave.
According to the statement, Clark, along with a group of investors, acquired Dunn Tire from its founder, James Dunn, in the 1990s.
The store has 25 locations in New York and Pennsylvania.
“We are excited to work with Randy and Robert Clark to bring Dunn Tire to our company Family as we enter next growth phase of our company,” said Christian Roe, Chief Revenue Officer of Discount Tire.
“They have built an exceptional company that serves customers throughout New York and Pennsylvania. Looking to the future, we will continue to expand our business in new markets and provide comprehensive service offerings to our customers.”
Discount Tire was founded in 1960 by Bruce T. Halle and currently operates more than 1,150 stores across the United States.
“In many ways, the acquisition of Dunn Tire is a historic reunion between great leaders and great people who care about their communities,” Adams said.
