Discount retailer and Costco rival offering membership discount at more than 50% off

A BIG-BOX retailer offered a discount on their one-year membership fee.

BJ’s customers can join the membership program for less than half the price of other wholesalers.

BJ’s “discounted membership program” has been discounted to $25 — more than half the normal $55 annual fee.

The discount puts the membership club well below its competitors — Costco charges $120 per year for access, while Sam’s Club charges $50 for its standard “Club” membership.

The special price includes offers for same-day delivery, 25 percent off all groceries and is coupon-friendly.

BJ’s also allows customers to add an internal member to all premium bonuses for free.

Each added member returns customers an additional $30.

Membership prices are taxable, so costs vary by region.

“Each member with shopping privileges at the club may bring two guests; However, guests do not have shopping privileges,” according to the terms and conditions.

Active and veteran military members also receive exclusive wholesale club discounts.

BJ’S EXTENSION

BJ’s Wholesale is expanding into new states throughout the year.

The company announced plans to open a new location in Tennessee – within 20 miles of Nashville.

The announcement comes after the brand announced plans to open stores in Davenport, Florida and McDonough, Georgia.

“We can’t wait to welcome our newest BJ members this year and help bring unbeatable value and savings to these local communities,” said Bill Werner, BJ’s executive vice president of strategy and development, in a Explanation.

“Our club openings in Davenport and McDonough are part of our continued growth in the Orlando and Atlanta markets, respectively.”

Each store is expected to bring 150 jobs to each area.

BJ’s did not respond to requests for comment.
