Dietmar Hamann launches amazing attack on Cristiano Ronaldo while praising Morocco’s ‘dignity in defeat’

And Liverpool legend Hamann praised Morocco for how they dealt with defeat while attacking Ronaldo.

He continued RTE: “They talk about these superstars, top earners, top players and one of the greatest players who left the scene about a week ago, in Ronaldo.

“He couldn’t even congratulate them after the game.

“Morocco won that game, they did something historic and he didn’t even have the dignity to congratulate them on what they achieved.

“And now you see them and how they shake hands with the French and what dignity and grace they show in defeat. Brilliant.”

Morocco became the first African team to reach a World Cup semifinals, but lost 2-0 to France, who face Argentina in the final.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo, 37, broke his silence this week following Portugal’s exit in Qatar.

He posted online: “Winning a World Cup for Portugal was the biggest and most ambitious dream of my career.

“Fortunately, I’ve won many titles of international importance, including for Portugal, but taking our country’s name to the highest level in the world has been my biggest dream.

“I fought for it. I fought hard for this dream. In the 5 appearances I’ve made at World Cups in 16 years, I’ve always given my all alongside great players and supported by millions of Portuguese people.

“I left everything on the field. I never turned to fighting and never gave up on that dream.

“Unfortunately, the dream ended yesterday. It’s not worth reacting to heat.”
