Last month, Commander, a four-month-old purebred German Shepherd puppy, joined the young ladies at the White House.
Since then, the Bidens announced a new addition to their family on January 28, 2022.
Biden is getting a new pet?
On Friday, the Biden administration announced that the first family adopted Willow, a gray short-haired tabby.
“Willow made quite an impression on Dr. Biden in 2020 when she jumped on stage and interrupted her remarks during the campaign pause. Seeing their instant bond, ranchers know that Willow belongs to Dr. Biden,” said Michael LaRosa, spokesman for the first lady, speak.
Jill first teased the news of the pending cat’s arrival in September 2020 in an interview with Fox 5 in Washington DC, said: “I would love to have a cat. I love having animals around the house.”
What happened to the Biden dogs at the White House?
Champ, the oldest dog of the Bidens, died in june, and Major, who they acquired from an animal shelter in 2018, were remade after struggling to adjust to the hectic White House lifestyle.
Following Major’s reshuffle, the Bidens welcome the Commander in December Year 2021.
“Welcome to the White House, Commander,” Biden tweeted at the time with a photo of the new puppy with a ball in his mouth.
Upon moving to the White House, Major and Champ had some difficulty adjusting to the new environment.
Major struggled to adapt after arriving and supposedly bit secret agent “every day for a week.”
An even event necessary medical assistance.
Major left the White House after a series of events and is currently living with a member of the Biden family.
How many times has a cat lived in the White House?
As of 2022, nine cats have been residents of the White House. In addition to Biden and Willow, here are the lucky cats and their owners:

The First president to bring a cat inside the White House was Lincoln and Secretary of State William Seward gave Mr. Tabby and Dixie.
Lincoln was a cat lover, and while visiting General Grant during the Civil War, he even rescued three orphaned kittens.
During his presidency, he regularly played with cats to relieve stress, which is still a popular stress reliever among cat enthusiasts today.
India “Willie” Bush, the lovable cat of the George W. Bush family, was the last cat to reside in the White House before Willow Biden.
According to 9lives.com, the cat spent her days at the presidential library and has her own website.
She also occasionally appeared in the films “Barneycam” about the president’s dog Barney.
