Did Joe Joyce’s ring entry ahead of Zhilei fight predict Zhang Brit’s horrific eye injury that forced him to lose?

BOXING fans believe Joe Joyce jinxed himself for his clash with Zhilei Zhang with his Terminator-style performance.

The former interim WBO heavyweight champion had a montage of himself as the Terminator played ahead of their Copper Box clash with Zhang on Saturday night.

The iconic theme song from the legendary Hollywood film blared through the arena as images of Joyce smashed into his former opponents with the red eye of a T-800 on the big screen.

Joyce’s red eye in the video turned out to be the same one Zhang closed with his left butt hand.

And it didn’t go unnoticed by fight fans, with one tweeting, “Some crazy foreboding in that ring gear.”

Another said: “I found the terminator part of the intro really sycophantic and looks a bit curse in hindsight.”

And another said: “Really cool to see Joe Joyce going on the Terminator theme.

“By the end of the fight, he probably had to cut out his own eye as well.”

One remarked: “Joe Joyce Ring Walk was the Terminator. But he went with one terminated eye.”

Another chimed in: “Joe Joyce came to the Terminator.

“Zhang came out as John Connor and caused the Terminator to malfunction.”

After the fight, a dejected Joyce, who broke the eye socket of Daniel Dubois in their 2020 showdown, said: “Now it’s an eye for an eye again, I did my eye.

“It’s like what I did, I got a little revenge from Dubois I think. Maybe it’s karma.

“He just kept eyeing me.

“I’m fine, perfectly fine, but now it’s closed and I can’t see out now.

“I haven’t fought a southpaw in a long time so I need to watch the tape.

“I thought I could have gone on, I did his shots well, but it’s just unfortunate that the eye has closed. But I’ll be back.”
