THE hunt is on for five inmates, including three sex offenders, who made an elaborate escape through a hole where prison cameras went dead.

According to the St. Francis County Sheriff’s Department, the escape from the county’s detention center in Farmingdale, Missouri, began around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The group entered a secured cell and “forced their way through a secured door.”

It is believed that the inmates then got to the roof of the prison using corridors for the facility’s plumbing system before getting on the ground and out of the area.

Cameras that captured the group escaping the prison were down due to construction work, police said.

The Sheriff’s Department announced that the group stole a gray 2009 Scion TC with makeshift Missouri license plates from the parking lot of a nearby health care facility.

They were last seen “heading south,” the department said.

All inmates were being held on felony charges, according to the department.

Three of the inmates, LuJuan Tucker, Aaron Sebastian and Kelly McSean – aka Larry Bemboom – are “known sex offenders”.

The other two inmates, Dakota Pace and Michael Wilkins, were being held on warrants.

The inmates removed their orange prison garb and were seen on camera “wearing white thermal leggings, white boxer and/or basketball shorts, and white t-shirts,” while Tucker wore a black t-shirt.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol and the United States Marshals Service are helping with the investigation.

Also, rewards of up to $5,000 will be offered for information leading to the inmate’s capture.

The Marshalls Service described each of the inmates as “dangerous,” and people are being urged to keep their distance and call 911 if they see them.

Tucker, 37, was convicted of raping a 12-year-old girl in 2003, according to the state sex offender registry.

At the age of 17, she was sentenced to five years for the crime, and in prison he was injured for violent sexual misconduct.

He faces charges of third-degree assault, second-degree sodomy and damaging government property.

Sebastian, 30, pleaded guilty to attempted legal sodomy of a seven-year-old girl in 2012 and was sentenced to six years in prison.

According to court documents, he is scheduled to stand trial in August for knowingly using violence against a sex offender rehabilitation and treatment service (SORTS) worker.

McSean, 52, is a transgender woman who has multiple criminal records under her previous name, Larry Bemboom.

Pace, 26, was held on charges of resisting arrest, theft, vandalism and tampering with a motor vehicle
