Derrick Lewis praises Tai Tuivasa but says shoe polishers are ‘bad’

Derrick Lewis offered some typical interesting thoughts on upcoming opponent Tai Tuivasa.

When it comes to entertaining heavyweights in the UFC scene, they’re no better than Derrick Lewis and Tai Tuivasa. Both men have great personalities, they are fun to watch inside the cage and they have fans around the world.

At UFC 271 next weekend, they’ll swing over the fence in Houston as they collide in what is likely to be Fight of the Night contenders.

One thing we all know and love about Tuivasa, in particular, is his “shoe-wearing” tradition, in which he drinks beer from a random shoe.

‘The Black Beast’ holds most of his strength in the art of transforming a phrase and in a recent interview he stayed true to that theme. Speaking to Fox Sports, Lewis said:

“He’s good, man, I like Tai. I really appreciate him taking out Greg Hardy like he did in his last game, Greg said a lot of trash, so I appreciate him, but I just don’t like it. rudeness. Beer drinking out of shoes and all that, what you do out there, I don’t like that, it’s annoying! My feet smell cheesy, I don’t know.”

The second chapter for Derrick Lewis

After losing to Daniel Cormier at UFC 230, many didn’t think they would see Derrick Lewis in the spotlight as a title contender again. Then, after a string of impressive performances, including knocking out Curtis Blaydes, he was right back up against Ciryl Gane. last summer.

He didn’t manage to get the job done during that temporary title struggle. In the next matchup against Chris Daukaus, however, he ignited the division once more with an electric show to cement his status as a man who should not be underestimated.

Tai Tuivasa has won his last four matches but he has never faced anyone on a par with Lewis. Whoever wins this war, if they do so convincingly, could be pretty close to a shot at Francis Ngannou. Derrick Lewis praises Tai Tuivasa but says shoe polishers are ‘bad’
