The EFL is threatening to knock Wayne Rooney’s Derby County out of the league if they don’t show they have enough money to finish the season.
The heated exchanges between Federation directors and club administrators reached a new height when the order was given for the money at midday on 1 February.
High Roon’s ultimatum means Derby must find a contractor willing to pay for the season or sell some of their remaining players.
The EFL can suspend the Rams’ ‘golden section’ if they are not satisfied and that means they will be dropped from the Championship – with their results discarded.
This heavy threat comes after Quantuma administrators were unable to strike a deal with the EFL to handle Middlesbrough and Wycombe claims.
Mike Ashley, a group led by Andy Appleby and a mysterious third party are keen to buy the club but will not take on Boro and Wycombe’s claims.
The administrators revealed: “General Administrators have an exit plan ready to be implemented and approved by creditors, and this is intended to align offers received to align with EFL bankruptcy policy. and their claims to creditors.

“The EFL has asked us to demonstrate adequate funding and until we can do that, they will not proceed with player registration.
“This includes a number of players who need to renew their contracts this month. While we have several options for how that funding can be distributed, we are not able to finalize the funding. this.
