Denis Leary joins ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ in Season 2

Denis Leary landed a familiar job: NYPD detective.

Actor logged in to recur in Law & Order: Organized CrimeThe current second season is Frank Donnelly, a member of the NYPD joins Chris Meloni’s Det. Toothbrush. His first episode is scheduled to air on March 3.

Leary previously played one of New York’s best roles in ABC’s single-camera comedy Work, ran for two seasons in the early years. Of course, he also plays a member of NYFD for seven seasons on FX’s Baby me.

Leary’s TV credits also include FX’s Sex & Drugs & Rock & RollTNT’s Animal Kingdom and most recently the Fox sitcom The Moodys.

Organized Crime marks Stabler’s return to the franchise after a decade of absence to lead the NYPD’s organized crime unit following the death of his wife, Kathy. Season 2 saw several new faces join the fight, including Mykelti Williamson (Director of Chicago) as Preston Webb, Ron Cephas Jones (This is us) as Congressman Leon Kilbride, Guillermo Diaz (Scandal) as Sgt. Bill Brewster and Dash Mihok (Ray Donovan) as Reggie Bogdani.

And as we reported last week, Jennifer Beals (The L Word, The Book of Boba Fett) To be set to repeat as The unnamed wife of drug lord Williamson and head of the Marcy syndicate.
