Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy vowed yesterday: “We will create our own miracle.”

He delivered his message of hope in a powerful Christmas message.

Zelenskyi told his war-torn nation, “We come for our people, we will restore freedom to all Ukrainian men and women.”

He added: “Let’s get through this winter because we know what we’re fighting for.

“Wherever we are, we will be together today. We won’t wait for a miracle. After all, we make it ourselves.”

Meanwhile, his top class enjoyed a candlelit Christmas dinner in a secret bunker.

Russia’s president has claimed he is ready to negotiate but has been snubbed.

Vladimir Putin spoke a day after an airstrike on a market in the southern city of Kherson left 10 dead and 58 wounded.

Posting images of dead bodies in the streets and burning cars, Mr Zelensky said the world must see, against “the absolute evil we are fighting”.
